PROJECTS

North County Handyman

A local Handyman struggling with managing booking clients and current jobs. The goal? Create a professional website that clients can use to get in contact, find answers to their questions, and schedule services.

  • As the lead website designer for North County Handyman, I spearheaded an in-depth research and development process, collaborating closely with the handyman to understand their unique business needs and challenges. Through thorough market research, I identified key stakeholders, including the local community and service providers, ensuring the website not only met the client's requirements but also resonated with potential customers seeking reliable handyman services.

  • In the initial iteration of the design, user testing revealed a crucial oversight with the absence of a clear call to action on the first frame of the website, hindering users' immediate engagement with the website. The organization of information about the services emerged as a notable issue during user testing, prompting a redesign to streamline and enhance the accessibility of details related to the handyman services offered.

By addressing these issues through iterative design adjustments, we ensured that the revised version not only featured an inviting call to action but also presented service information in a more structured and user-friendly manner, ultimately improving the overall user experience of the North County Handyman website.

  • High-fidelity interactive prototypes of the mobile and desktop design, as well as comprehensive design specifications, and style guides to establish clear guidelines for development to maintain a cohesive and polished visual identity.

Sustainable Tracker

A website with a goal of promoting sustainability, Sustainable Tracker follows the UN’s 17 sustainable development goals (SDG’s). The goal? Creating an engaging home page and making a cohesive design for the 17 SDG’s.

  • Taking over the design from a previous team, my role as the point of contact with the founder involved a meticulous exploration of the project's requirements, ensuring a seamless transition and understanding the founder's vision for a cohesive design that embodies each of the 17 SDGs.

Through collaborative efforts, we successfully transformed the Sustainable Tracker website by implementing stories, tracking SDG metrics, and ways to get involved in local sustainability efforts.

  • After meticulous review of the existing structure and identifying opportunities for improvement. We addressed challenges related to clarity and user engagement, ensuring that the first iteration laid the foundation for a visually compelling platform that effectively communicates the essence of each SDG, while promoting sustainability in an accessible and user-friendly manner. You can see what changed in the deliverables.

  • We implemented user feedback by having the biggest story of the day be the background of the website for a constantly fresh feed, adding clear filters so users can find what is important to them as well as adding metrics to the website so users can see where each goal stands at any given time.

PinTo

Meet PinTo, your personal security app that takes location-sharing to the next level. Share your real-time location with trusted contacts, and let PinTo discreetly alert them if you deviate from your route. Perfect for online dates and late-night commutes, PinTo is your proactive companion for peace of mind on the go.

  • Creating a personal security app we wanted to create something that reduced the amount of apps needed to protect yourself as well as protecting the data that you share with personal security apps. Through a 5 day design sprint we designed multiple iterations and went through user testing on each.

  • During user testing we quickly discovered that the ability to thoroughly customize what information you share, with who, and when you are sharing that information was the number one request. The user testing process also revealed a interface issues such as the location and function of the fake call feature.

  • We built an interactive prototype with a clear information architecture that makes check-ins, location history, and the fake call feature easy and quick to access. We also provided user personas based on consumer and competitor research, user flows that outline the users journey through the app, and a usability testing plan.
